Beacons of Life by Katrina Lybbert
~Lifelong Learning~ There is so much to learn in this life that we can never stop learning. Learning in our family is not something that is only done at a certain time, but is constant and a part of everything we do. We love to read and study to improve ourselves, and then strive to relate what we learn to everyday life. As parents we model learning for our children, so they can see that learning never stops. In his book Standing for Something, President Gordon B. Hinckley wrote: "The learning process is endless. We must read, we must observe, we must assimilate, and we must ponder that to which we expose our minds.....we cannot afford to stop learning and growing and progressing. We must not rest in our personal development--development that is emotional and spiritual as well as mental. There is so much to learn and so little time in which to learn it." He also wrote: "No matter how old we become, we can acquire knowledge and use it. We can gather wisdom and profit from it. We can grow and progress and improve--and, in the process, strengthen the lives of those within our circle of influence." Learning
