Overview
for 2011
Mountaineer
1. Read from the Book of Mormon regularly (daily if
possible, even if only 1 verse).
2. Read and study The New Testament to be
prepared for the
Gospel Doctrine lesson each week. (Refer to the New Testament
Class Member Study Guide)
3. Read and be prepared for the Relief Society Lessons
from the revised Gospel Principles manual. Usually there are 2 of these
lessons each month. Check your own ward/stake calendar and schedule to
see what you need to read. Read these lessons before
they are covered in R.S.
4. Read each month's Ensign magazine from cover to
cover. If you would like to spread the conference issues out
longer (May and November), you can choose to read 2 or 3 articles a
week. Then in the months of May and November you can catch up on
other Ensigns you may not have finished yet.

2. Choose an additional resource to help with your study of the New
Testament for Gospel Doctrine classes.
Possible resources (only need to choose one):

3. Read and memorize one hymn or primary song each
month. Try to learn
all the verses but at least memorize the first verse.
Ponder on the words of the hymn/song and write down any thoughts you
have.
Play
the hymn/song during the month -- CD's & tapes with or without
words are
available
through the Distribution Center, or listen free online at
http://www.lds.org/cm/display/0,17631,4996-1,00.html
(Divinity Journal Suggestion - write out the words to the hymns you
have chosen as
copywork.)
There is also a wonderful series of episodes on
different LDS hymns at the following link:
http://radio.lds.org/eng/programs/history-of-hymns
4. Keep a Divinity Journal. In the journal
you
can record any thoughts, impressions and spiritual experiences you may
have during your study. You could list scriptures that influence
you. Also include copywork of the hymns you memorize, passages
