Art Appreciation for 2007

"The artist is a receptacle for the emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web."
~ Pablo Picasso

Art Appreciation Overview for 2007

This year we will be learning about and studying the art of 11 - 12 different artists.  Six of the artists are LDS.  To fully participate in this area of study, it is highly recommended that you join the LDSMomEd email list.  For each artist, a kind list member has offered to post links, resources, information, and insights to guide us in our study.  Art can inspire us and uplift us.

It is recommended that you keep a notebook of thoughts and impressions you get from viewing an artist's paintings or drawings.  You may even wish to try and draw or paint in the style of an artist you really enjoy.  Keep records of why you like a certain artist and how their art makes you feel.  You will be amazed at the love you will gain for art.
