Education Overview for 2005

1. Read the monthly assignment from Teaching, No Greater Call (TNGC).  See pg. 188 for helps on how to study this book on your own.  Add any notes, thoughts and impressions from your readings to your notebook.

2. We are reading both Volume 1 and Volume 6 of The Original Homeschooling Series by Charlotte M. Mason this year.  You can choose to read one or both.  If you haven't read either of these volumes before, and your children are young, then read Volume 1.  If you have read Volume 1 before and your time is limited, read Volume 6.  Volume 6 is also useful for families with older children.  We will be reading Volume 6 every year, so if you don't get to it this year, you can always join in next year.  There are monthly reading assignments for each volume.  Record your favorite ideas/quotes and also jot down plans for implementation in your notebook.

3. Read the selected education articles for enrichment/discussion  There are about 6-7
articles spaced out over the year.  See the monthly assignment schedule.

4. Keep a notebook.  You can develop this notebook however you wish, make it work for you.  You might like to have sections for your different children and write down ideas from your studies that will be beneficial to each child.
