Weeks 26 - 30

For each hymn/song you will find a list of suggested articles, poems, lesson ideas, extra scriptures, or internet references etc. We choose one or two of these suggestions to include in our Sunday lessons for that hymn/song.

Find some books with pictures from all across America. Discuss the beauty of your country and how grateful you are for it.
Sing the National Anthem as well.

Discuss reasons why pioneer children needed to be obedient, and the consequences they might have suffered had they not obeyed.
A Different Kind of Pioneer (Friend - July 2001, pg. 46)
Modern Pioneers (Ensign - Nov. 1989, pg. 64)
Make a poster that lists different ways we can be pioneers today. Post it during the week as a reminder to the whole family.
Sing other pioneer songs from the Children's Songbook.
